Condemning the Brutal Execution of John Paul and Kidnapping of Civilians: A Call for Neighborhood Defense
The People’s Rights Advocacy Platform (PRAP) strongly condemns the brutal execution of John Paul, manager of Nso Boys Travel Agency, and the abduction of his brother by Ambazonia fighters. This heinous act, which involved dragging both men out of their home, executing John Paul along the way, and forcing his brother to call mourning relatives to demand ransom, is a grave violation of human rights and an affront to the dignity of our people.
This tragedy highlights an escalating trend of attacks against civilians by rogue elements operating under the guise of liberation. Such atrocities not only destroy families but undermine the core values of justice and accountability that genuine struggles for freedom should uphold.
These criminal actions, carried out in the name of Ambazonia, are unacceptable. Even when legitimate factions engage the Cameroon military, such actions inadvertently embolden criminals, who exploit the conflict to prey on innocent civilians. The line between just resistance and outright criminality has become increasingly blurred, causing immense suffering in our communities.
PRAP urges our communities to take immediate steps to safeguard themselves through the following measures: FORMATION OF ANTI-GANG / Organize Neighborhood Watches: Communities must come together to create local defense networks to deter attacks and protect each other.
QUATA HEAD LEADERSHIP Strengthen Unity: Divided communities are more vulnerable to exploitation. We must foster cooperation and shared responsibility for our safety. EXPOSE BAD BOYS LOCATIONS Expose Perpetrators: Criminals hiding behind the Ambazonian cause must be exposed and ostracized. Their actions must not define our collective struggle.
PRAP also calls on Ambazonian leaders and factions to publicly denounce and actively combat criminal activities within their ranks. Silence on these issues is complicity, and the failure to address such atrocities discredits any claims to represent the interests of the people.
The time has come for all Ambazonians to recognize the grave harm caused by these criminal elements. True liberation cannot be built on the suffering of innocent people. Let us unite to reject these acts of violence and protect the sanctity of civilian life in our communities.
PRAP remains committed to advocating for peace, justice, and the protection of human rights in our territories.
